sash is based on James Ensor's painting "Christ's
Entry into Brussels, 1889" which was painted
in 1888 and now lives in the Getty Museum. The painting
is filled with banners and signs that were painted over
by the artist in his later years, though "Vive
La Sociale" still appears on a bright red banner
at the top of the painting. Louis looks quite regal
wearing this sash over a suit. |
