My
bike inspired me to make a fixed gear pattern. The
skirt is made from five panels, which are smaller
at the top than the bottom, mimicking the size change
from a small chainring to a larger one. It worked
out perfectly! The skirt fits well and I am really
excited about how pretty the chainrings and chain
looks. The top has a map of Los Angeles knit into
it and my initials an the dates. The other side says
"Bike Los Angeles" and has the downtown
map pictured on it. I don't have a picture of that
yet. The legwarmers have the same pattern. Pictured
below is my bike with a bunch of chickens at the Crenshaw
High School garden I went to visit on a Bikesummer
tour. I was just charmed to see how cute my bike looks
next to roosters. My bike is 36 years old and I can
say with near -certainty that it has never before
been in a chicken coop.
