This
is a sweater specifically about riding in Los Angeles.
I made it with set-in sleeves and high ribbing both
on the body and the sleeves, so it would be more fitted
than the other sweaters. I wanted to make slightly
poufy sleeves too, but not sure exactly how to do
that. They came out a little poufy anyhow, but not
as much as I wanted. I had some problems with the
neckline, but otherwise I am super happy with the
way this sweater fitts. Like a glove! It's made out
of merino wool. The front says "Bike Los Angeles
Always." I was thinking about how BikeSummer
shouldn't be the only time we ride LA. We should ride
LA always! The back says "On my bike, Los Angeles
is mine." That's my handwriting and I really
do feel that way about how the relationship of bikes
to the street defines a rider's urban landscape. The
sleeves have chains and chainrings on them, and the
decorative motif is from a vintage sweater. I made
this sweater a little long, so that when I lean over
to grab my bars, it won't ride up. Awesome!
Get
on your damn bike, already!
