This is the first poncho I made. It says "Bush is Scary Vote for Kerry" on one side and the other just says "Kerry 2004." It was sold at a fundraiser benefitting the Democratic Party. It was one of the first things I made with the knitting machine, and the letters are all programmed into the machine one at a time. It's a tricky procedure, and one small mistake means entering the long series of commands and numbers again. Sometimes the machine has a mind of it's own, and a few letters randomly knit on different lines in a larger font. It's hit and miss. Anyhow, I finally got it right and made a couple of these ponchos. They're acryllic. I bought a bunch of acryllic when I first got the knitting machine, because in a delusional state I thought I'd be able to just bang out sweaters right and left. It's not that simple. It's not even a little bit simple.
