These two text panels were made as a sketch for a sweater
just after the disappointing presidential election.
I just couldn't decide what was going to happen to this
country, to our economy, to our civil rights, to Iraq....etc.
And first I thought, that, well, things couldn't get
any worse than they already are. They have to get better.
But then I turned around and realized that they could
get much worse indeed. So the sweater will have one
statement on the front and one on the back. The neckline
will be symmetrical so it can be worn either optimistically
forward or pessimistically forward.
The text panels above were sold at a benefit for the
Santa Monica Museum of Art. I turned one extra "mistake"
panel into a legwarmer for cycling, and it's quite nice! |
